Since 2002, Safe Families for Children and its thousands of volunteer families have offered support and hope for families in crisis.
Safe Families for Children doesn’t take kids from their parents. Rather, parents voluntarily allow host families to care for their children giving parents peace of mind that their children are protected and safe – and so that parents can focus on getting back on their feet.
Safe Families’ goal is to strengthen and preserve biological families without the bureaucracy, taxpayer spending or government dependence. Saving families means ending isolation – connecting people in community (often through churches) – and moving together in healing and the fullness of life God intends.
Hosting families are never paid, donors provide essential funding used in supporting Chapters’ outreach to the community, staffing critical professional services and adding to the network, ultimately helping the ever-growing number of families in crisis.
This approach makes all the difference -- It’s good for the budget, but more important, it’s good for everyone involved (volunteers, staff, parents and kids alike). Not only do families find resources and practical solutions, but something even more valuable: friendship, community, and hope.
